We would like to give a special mention to the recent successes that the Malahide branch has had in the following fleadhs.
Well done to both.
Class dates for this term are as follows:
There will be no classes on Ocotber 26th or November 1st.
The last class for this term will be December 13th. As in previous terms, we hope to organise a session before the end of the year. This is a great opportunity for our young musicians to play together and experience the athmosphere and sense of comradery at these events. As soon as a date is arranged we will inform you of the time and venue.
Classes will resume this Saturday, September 6th, in St Oliver Plunketts School, Grove Road at 9:15am. Students registering for the first time will be dealt with at 9:30am. This term classes are available in fiddle, tin whistle, flute, bodhran, concertina and button accordian.
Because of of the reduced numbers travelling to Cashel on Saturday, we have decided to go directly to Bru Boru in Cashel. We will meet up with a group of young musicians from Tipperary Fleadh at 4.30pm after which we will visit the other attractions there before sitting down for Dinner at 7 o’clock.
The Show will commence at 9.00pm and we hope to leave at around 10.30pm in order to get back home a little after 1.00am. It should be a most enjoyable trip at a very reasonable cost of €20 per Head.
The Cashel trip will take place on Saturday 28th June. We will leave at around 9 o’clock am and travel to Holy Cross for a light snack and short music session. We will then travel on to Cashel to meet at Brú Ború. Weather permitting we will play music on the lawn.
We will pay a visit to the Rock of Cashel and be back for dinner and a Music and Dancing session with others before the show. After attending the main part of the show which finishes at 10.20pm, we will depart for Dublin to be home at 12.30/1.00am.
The cost after all discounts will be €40/€45 per head approx. Both Branches have agreed to subsidise the trip by around 50% so the actual cost per person will be €20. Kinsealy are running a fund raising Quiz at Campions Pub on Friday 20th June and all money will be collected and places confirmed by that night. The trip is open it to all members but we recommend that it is most suitable for 12 year old and upwards or those who have playing experience.

The last Class of the term on the 26th April will be a Class Session and the venue will be the Parish Hall behind the Church as the School is unavailable that Day. It would also be possible to have the Parish Hall on Saturday 3rd May so that those competing in the Dublin Fleadh on the following weekend could practice. I would welcome your comments.
